When I was a child, I was afraid of ...
When I was a child, I was afraid of walking home alone in the dark. In the winters, especially, just walking home from school was something that truly terrified me. It terrified me, as I was a child with a great imagination. Not seeing what was around me in the woods I would have to walk through to get home only made it worse. Because even when I couldn’t see, I could still hear and I could still feel. I could hear every little noise that was created by something out there. I heard the wind rustling the trees, the crunching of snow under my boots, and that godforsaken rumbling and rustling I would never know the origin of.

Upon heaps of words I sit, but understanding...
well, it's always much farther away than I thought.
In the dark passages of time, my hands find only blank space,
an open mouth.
I've fallen into nothingness.
Lethe pours through my fingers like ruddy ink.
I can't dream and I grieve.
I feel oblivion on my breath.
Acrid and salty,
a reaper's shadow on my bones.
Speak to me, please,
before it devours me.

too worn
and I made it okay
then I stopped being your “good morning”
and everyone else saw you first
and I told myself it was because
you were too busy
too popular
too distracted
and I made it okay
now it ends with “good bye”
and it's not a cry for attention or a ploy for your love
you can tell yourself it's because
I'm too needy
too jealous
too much
but I gotta make it, okay?

Oh wow... I felt that! Ok that sounded weird (what i just wrote/typed). Ok I'll try that again. The angel.. it was almost like I could hear him inside my head as I was reading this. Does that make sense?
